Leo	About four weeks ago, I drove my first Kat. I had been nosing around the internet for a 350z roadster when I came across the KAT Ads. After locating and driving a semi-local Kat, I was hooked on the design (I'm an engineer) but I wasn't sure that was the way to go. When I finally made up my mind 4 days later, the Kat I rode was gone. In a chance of fate, I found another in Denver (also Red but with a trailer). I jumped on it! So I'm making payments on a Kat that resides in my friends garage in Denver until I can get it back here to Illinois. Now I'm looking at driving vs shipping it from Denver to Illinois (bucks!), trying to decide wether to buy a extended warranty by tomorrow (more bucks!!) and then what to do next (besides enjoying it this summer!). SOOOOOOOO If anyone has some recommendations, I'd sure be interested in what the group has to say!

ed monahan	Driving V. shipping. You can fly out tomorrow and take possession of it or wait until you can line up a hauler. = No Brainer. You can fly out for a couple hundred bucks, spend another $ 100 on gas and McDonald's and maybe even spend the night in a motel. You can be enjoying the car the entire time and other people will get to see it and enjoy it, OR it can sit in an enclosed trailer for a week or so. = My opinion, another no brainer. If you pick it up, you know it is safe and won't get dinged up. The hauler will probably not ding it up, either. If you don't have the time to go pick it up, have it hauled. If you do have a couple of days, go for the thrill of driving that baby HOME. If you take US 36, it is the old Pony Express Route, an it is a great trip. A lot of interesting sights to see and no big rigs throwing stones up at you. It is actually a little shorter than taking the Interstate, too. It runs right into I-70 about 30 or 40 miles east of Denver. I highly recommend it. You will be the hit at every place you stop, too. Stop in Hannibal, MO, too. The geographical center of the continental U.S. is about 3 miles north of the route. You sill see the marker for it. I say, go pick it up unless it is next to impossible. kat hunter	I had the same choices to make in December when I bought mine out of Florida. Decided to have some fun and drive it back, worked out fine. I took a car bra and the front mudflaps with me and installed them before I left with the prowler. If you also get the Illinois license plates before you go it might save a little trouble coming back. Let the fun begin.

BeWare	Congrats on the new Cat. I agree with the others fly and drive. Also if it does not have front flaps install them first as as AC suggested.
CJ	Since I used to live in Colorado (and it is my favorite place in the whole world) I would say definitely fly out. Paste a big smile on your face, drive it around the mountain roads for a day while you can (maybe hook up with some of the local Prowler owners) and then drive it home! Marty Usher	Ditto - Fly to Denver, dry it home. You will really enjoy the trip. The extended warranty has saved me more than I paid for the policy - but I drive a lot of miles - 72,000 + so far.
CatDude	ditto... fly and drive... It will be the shortest long trip you ever took, and also, you won't be worried about the transport if you do it yourself.
Kevin A	Leo, you must resist all temptation to drive your Prowler. Keep it locked in a garage and do NOT put any miles on it. These should be bought as investments and hidden away like the Crown Jewels. Putting any modifications or miles on the car will ruin your investment! Remember, suppress any thought of endangering your Prowler by exposing it to public roads! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . JUST Kidding! Get on a plane and drive that bad boy home! It's a once in a lifetime trip you will NEVER forget. I'll always treasure my memories of driving my Kat home for the first time.
